This tail is based upon our CB400 SuperSport tail, but trimmed a little differently. It fits the frame rails of the 1972 CB500 very well, but will not match up to the hinge points of your Honda CB500 or CB 550. We recommend using flat steel from your local hardware store to secure the seat from underneath the frame rails that the seat sits on top of. This vintage style fiberglass Cafe Racer tail section is for 70s era Honda CB500s (1971-1973) and CB550s built from 1974 to 1978. The bike pictured is a 1972 CB500 with a 1975 CB550 engine. While we know there may have been frame changes between the models, we believe that this will also fit your CB550 F and K. Engine swaps are common, side covers from 500s fit later model 550s, etc, ....but it's not a guarantee for all years... Measure and confirm before buying. This should definitely fit 1971 to 1973 CB500s as nicely as it fits the 1972 model pictured. Delivered in hard-shell white gelcoat, ready for primer and paint, you will need to mount it to the frame and upholster.
