This tail is inspired by the mid-70s Kawi KZ650 cafe racer in the picture. This is a current bike built up in France and we just loved it and had to make one. The dimension pics are the same as the Universal CB500 seat CR-0040. It's based upon our CB400 SuperSport tail, but trimmed a little differently. It fits the frame rails of the 1972 CB500 very well, but will not match up to the hinge points of your Honda CB500 or CB 550. We recommend using flat steel from your local hardware store to secure the seat from underneath the frame rails that the seat sits on top of. This vintage style fiberglass Cafe Racer tail section is for 70s era Honda CB500s (1971-1973) and CB550s built from 1974 to 1978. The bike pictured is a 1972 CB500 with a 1975 CB550 engine. While we know there may have been frame changes between the models, we believe that this will also fit your CB550 F and K. Engine swaps are common, side covers from 500s fit later model 550s, etc, ....but it's not a guarantee for all years... Measure and confirm before buying. This should definitely fit 1971 to 1973 CB500s and we recommend it for many different bikes as a universal fit Delivered in hard-shell white gelcoat, ready for primer and paint, you will need to mount it to the frame and upholster.
