Honda CB500/CB550 CafeRace Tail

Code: CB500T

Price: $175.00

Shipping Weight: 10.00 pounds

This tail is based upon our CB400 SuperSport tail, but trimmed a little differently. It fits the frame rails of the 1972 CB500 very well, but will not match up to the hinge points of your Honda CB500 or CB 550. We recommend using flat steel from your local hardware store to secure the seat from underneath the frame rails that the seat sits on top of.

This vintage style fiberglass Cafe Racer tail section is for 70s era Honda CB500s (1971-1973) and CB550s built from 1974 to 1978. The bike pictured is a 1972 CB500 with a 1975 CB550 engine. While we know there may have been frame changes between the models, we believe that this will also fit your CB550 F and K. Engine swaps are common, side covers from 500s fit later model 550s, etc, ....but it's not a guarantee for all years...

Measure and confirm before buying. This should definitely fit 1971 to 1973 CB500s as nicely as it fits the 1972 model pictured. Delivered in hard-shell white gelcoat, ready for primer and paint, you will need to mount it to the frame and upholster.

BMW Race Tail for R75, R80, R90 & R100

Code: BMWT

Price: $225.00

BMW Race Replica Seat:

CafeRace has made replicas of this stylish tailsection for older airheads. It's the best single addition you can make to an old boxer to make it fly while standing still. The tail section is A white gelcoat with a metal mounting bracket and an indentation for a 2.75" BMW roundel. Designed to fit R90 and R100 models made from 1973-1983, with very minor modification it fits earlier model R75/5s and has been fitted to R80s and even the later monolevers of the 1980s as well. We believe that most /6 and /7 frames are both "long frames". For your application, measure from the frame down tube under the gas tan
k to the very rear of the frame - our seat is about 30 inches long (plus about two inches of tongue that inserts into the frame under the tank - Total length 30" (76 cm) - Seat pan width at front 7.5" (19 cm)at narrowest - Seat pan width atrear 11" (28 cm)at widest - Seat pan width at point where the hump starts 11" (28 cm)

Yamaha XS650 (1975) Cafe Race Tail

Code: XS650T

Price: $175.00

This our brand-new, vintage style fiberglass Cafe Racer tail -section for 70s era Yamaha XS650/TX650 built from 1969 to 1979. We are the ORIGINAL U.S. manufacturer for this after-market Yamaha tailsection! Beware of cheap, poorly manufactured knock-offs coming from California! Our fiberglass parts are designed by us based on vintage seats and manufactured in Colorado. Our quality blows the competition out of the water... (An unmentionable company has been spewing slanderous shite lately, and we feel sensitive).
Delivered in hard-shell gelcoat, ready for primer and paint, it is based on the original seat pan and has mounts for the hinging hardware, but will require upholstery - we are working on an upholstery kit. If you are unsure whether or not the seat pan will fit your bike, measure your frame and consult the dimensions above. This one was built from a 1975 XS650B and is matched to fit the stock seat pan. We have not been able to verify all of the bikes this seat will fit perfectly.

The XS series were built from 1969 to 1979, and we provide this history from Wikipedia. "The 1970 model was designated the XS-1. Subsequent models were XS-1B (1971), XS-2 (1972), then they changed the model designation from XS to TX. It went TX (1973), TX-A (1974), then they changed it back to XS but went on with the alphabetical suffix. XS-B (1975), XS-C(1976), XS-D(1977), XS-E (1978), XS-F (1979). 1979 was the last year of the so-called "Standards" (owner's term meaning opposite to Special) The E’s and Fs also came in Special form; XS-SE (S for Special) and XS-SF. From then on it was Specials only to XS-SJ.
THIS WILL NOT FIT THE SPECIALS! WE SUSPECT IT WILL FIT MOST OF THE STANDARDS, BUT DO YOUR HOMEWORK, BASING INFORMATION AROUND THE FACT THAT IT WAS BUILT FOR A 1975 MODEL.

BMW Bushong CafeRace Tail

Code: BMWBP

Price: $225.00

Shipping Weight: 10.00 pounds

CafeRace, Inc.feels extremely fortunate that Perry Bushong found us worthy and offered up his re-design of our Knoscher replica for us to market, in fact we are feeling a little like Wayne and Garth right about now. This seat differs from the traditional Knoscher only in the rear... The dimensional picture below is of the original BMW Knoscher Replica, but the fitment dimensions are the same. The key difference is that the rounded section extends past the bracket (and the end of your frame) by 3 inches. The product is delivered in hard-shell white gelcoat, ready for primer and paint, includes mounting bracket, but will require either upholstery

For those of us on a budget and/or wanting to ride more immediately, we are making a 3/4" foam race pad that is die cut and can be spray glued or velcroed on to the bike. The tail section fits "long frame" R-series bikes like R90/6 and R100/7 from at least 1973 to 1984 like a glove and has been fitted to the R75/5 and R80 as well as BSAs and Honda CB750s with extremely minor trimming. If you are unsure whether or not the seat pan will fit your bike, measure from the frame down tube under the gas tank to the very rear of the frame - our seat is about 30 inches long(plus about two inches of tongue that inserts into the frame under the tank.
Total length = 30" Seat pan width at front = 7.5" at narrowest Seat pan width at rear = 11" at widest Seat pan width at point where the vertical bumpstop begins = 11" The metal bracket glassed into the rear of the tail fits directly over the back of the frame and is secured with one bolt.
